When you support The Prairie Enthusiasts, you join with others who have a deep concern and strong appreciation for the beauty, character and ecological importance of prairie and oak savanna. Your gift provides critical resources to strengthen the work of our organization and ensures that places we protect today stay protected for all time.

Your gift to The Prairie Enthusiasts, Inc. may qualify for possible tax deductions for charitable contributions under federal law. There are several ways to give, any of which may provide you with substantial tax advantages. Contact your personal tax advisor to learn how this may relate to your situation.

There are several opportunities of giving:

• Gifts of cash/gifts of stock: making a personal gift is an excellent way to join in supporting the work of TPE. Individual contributions are instrumental in supporting TPE programs, publications and operations.
• Gifts of land: Donors who choose this method of giving do so for many reasons: to ensure their land is conserved for future generations or to provide a lasting memorial. Gifts of land can result in a charitable tax deduction as well as avoidance of capital gains taxes for the landowner.

• Conservation easements: If you wish to retain ownership of your property while at the same time ensuring that the land will remain in its natural condition, a conservation easement may interest you. An easement allows you to use your land for purposes compatible with natural area conservation while prohibiting development and other non-compatible uses.

• Bequests: One of the easiest ways to give to TPE is through your will or trust. In your will or trust you can name TPE as the direct beneficiary of specific assets, a portion of your estate, or of your residual estate after payment of other bequests. Other planned giving options are gifts of life insurance, annuities, or a retirement plan.
